THE BIG IDEA: The goal of this meeting is to consider the gender gap in education, learn why it exists and how it affects adolescents globally, and then think about some ways we can close this gap. We will need 35 minutes to complete this meeting.

What is a "Gender Gap"?

First we are going to discuss the term "gender gap" and then we will watch two videos on the gender gap in education. 

The World Economic Forum defines the term "gender gap" as gender-based disparity between men and women in four fundamental areas:

• Ability to have a job and earn a living
• Ability to receive an education
• Health and survival 
• Political empowerment
